I am delighted and honoured to have won the President's Award for Societal Engagement from the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution. This award "recognizes and celebrates the contributions of leading scientists in the areas of policy, education, community science projects, scientific outreach, and EDI initiatives." The citation mentioned my having served for four years as Chair of COSEWIC - the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada, as well as numerous outreach contributions including promotion of community (citizen) science.
